I'm Not Martha Stewart...

But they are.

Have you ever noticed how children embrace creativity without reservation; how they can borrow an idea and improve upon it with a few ideas of their own? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with not worrying about the utility bill during a scorching summer, the incessant laundry (just ignore my basket there on the floor), and the daily mama drama, entitled, What Am I Making For Dinner?

We borrowed Martha Stewart magazines and books from the library (old magazines rock) and found a bird mobile craft that inspired them. I will neither confirm nor deny that I steered them towards a birding craft.

Completely unfazed that we didn't have over half the items on Martha's list (that alone can squash my artsy energy), they beautifully improvised. The bird mobiles came out more dazzling than the inspired version because they borrowed an idea and added some ideas of their own.

Arielle took a second look at her white birds and decided to cover them in scraps of her favorite fabric and beautiful button eyes.

Sharing the ideas of others and adding your own thoughts and personality is what the public library is all about.

Just ask Martha Jr. This precious girl loves to library and appreciates the fact that she can borrow their beauty, keep the knowledge, and add her own. Hope you're inspired to visit your local library today.

Live. Learn. Library.

xoxo Michele
