Library Passports Update

So we had a little neighborhood craft party Friday afternoon. The idea behind a library passport is to encourage children to look beyond the easy readers and junior fiction. There are entire worlds to discover in every aisle of the library.

The good news: The seven children around the table enjoyed putting the Passports together while I rambled on about how the library is so much more than books.

The less-than great news: The quality is pathetically sad. I want to create a passport that will last longer than a week - beautiful book diaries they can add to year after year.

As soon as school is out for summer (one more week!), Arielle and I will break out the sewing machine and work on cloth book covers. I'll keep you posted.

You can download the free passport templates here.

Have you signed up for the library summer reading program yet? It's so easy to sign up online. If you live near Charlotte, NC, go here

xoxo Michele

Our library's theme this year is Mission Possible, all themed up in spy mode!
