31 Days of Library Living (Day 14}: Q & A With John The Library Advocate

When I started this 31 Days series, I asked my family to pray. I knew it was going to be a colossal undertaking. Kinda like being the Popcorn Kernel for one of my son's Cub Scout Den. Just kidding. Eleven boys and hundreds of boxes of popcorn ~ not to mention keeping track of the money funneling through 35 pairs of hands is easy compared to blogging every day, can I get a witness? At dinner last night I admitted I didn't have a topic lined up for Friday.

John:
What are you going to say?

Me:
I'm not sure. You have any suggestions?

John:
Tell them the library is like Santa Claus.

Me:
How is the library like Santa?

John:
Because they are always giving us gifts.

Me:
But we have to take back what we borrow so they can
share with others.

John:
Mom. What's wrong with you? We are always trading in the
old books for new ones. Santa can't even do that.

And there you have it. Our seven year old surprises me sometimes. But then again, he's my boy.

This series, 31 Days of Library Living, started here. Please join me for the month, maybe even follow me forever on this blog by email or subscribe to my posts - I would be honored.

I don't know why but I am always surprised by the wisdom of our youth. Why are they so smart? Is it because they are closer to the pureness of God? I think as we get older, staying close to God takes more effort, but when you're only 7 years old, it's only been 7 years since they were directly holding the hand of the Father. At least that's how I look to see it.

You're kidding about the popcorn, right? You're not so crazy as to get sucked into THAT? All these years of scouting and ummm NO NEVER. Some years, we don't even SELL popcorn! LOL

Oh, yes, Merrick. I would never joke about being the Popcorn Kernel. Now I would have to be over the top crazy to volunteer to be the Popcorn Kernel for both of my boys dens, which I'm not. :)
